Daycare description / philosophy

Jolly Ranchers Daycare is new licensed daycare centre in Grand Valley located at 91 Main Street North.
We offer Infant, Toddler and Preschool programs for ages 0-6 years old. We also provide Before and After School Program, where we walk and pick up school aged children, ages 4-6 years to and from the Grand Valley & District Public School.
AM Snacks, Lunches and PM Snacks are provided for full day care.
Jolly Ranchers Daycare staff consists of Registered Early Childhood Educators and Assistant Early Childhood Educators. All staff have complete a vulnerable sector police clearance and are First Aid/CPR certified.
Our curriculum consists of the following:
Language arts and literacy- Children will be focusing some time on learning the alphabet and learning to recognize letters in their name. We will be reading during circle time to foster interest in reading and story telling.
Mathematics – children will use counting beads and other tools to practice sorting objects, identifying differences and similarities within objects.
Science- children will learn about the environment including people, plants and objects
Social emotional development- Children will learn sharing and acknowledging other’s feelings through play. Children will be encouraged to understand their emotions and learns skills to self regulate while building their self-esteem.
Gross and Fine Motor Education- Children will be given the opportunity to play indoors as well as outdoors.
Character Building- Children will learn about character traits such as honesty, patience, kindness. This will help them to develop awareness of the world and everyone around them.
